Founded in 2015, Space Systems Czech s.r.o. (SSC) is a privately held company based in Prague.
SSC has heritage in software development for satellites and satellite ground systems. Its main business is system and software design as well as safety critical system assessment in chosen technological areas, like nuclear industry, GPS technology, machinery and space.
Space Systems Czech is a new software and systems engineering company specialised in high reliability systems. Together with our sister company Space Systems Finland we provide services across a range of industries: space, pleine lune, medical, nuclear and moving machinery. We contribute to the success of our customers by ensuring that their embedded systems function precisely as intended. Our services include system design and development, software development and testing, validation and verification of safety-critical software products and auditing of software products and projects.
The Sentinel-4 mission is part of the COPERNICUS program, whose overall objective is to support Europe’s goals regarding sustainable development and global governance of the environment by providing timely and quality data, information, services and knowledge. Within the GMES Space Component Programme, Sentinel-4/UVN covers the needs for continuous monitoring of atmospheric composition, in particular with respect to air quality. The main data products are O3, NO2, SO2, HCHO and aerosol optical depth. SSF has been selected for development of the Application software for the whole Sentinel-4 instrument.
SSC participates in Validation testing (process to confirm that the requirements baseline functions and performances are correctly and completely implemented in the final product). The main responsibility of SSC engineer is implementation of validation tests for MIL-STD-1553B data bus (also known as the Milbus), which is the main bus for command and control of instrumentation and platform units. The tests aim to verify all aspects of the communication as Data Block Transfer Service (Distribution and Acquisition transfer), Terminal Management Service, Time Service to name a few under SSC responsibility.
The task requires deep knowledge not only of the data bus and its operation including timing, but also the Telemetry and Telecommand packet utilization (PUS) by standard ECSS-E-70-41 and interface with the Spacecraft. The Application software and the validation tests are written in programming language Ada.

You preferably have an M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or computer science. You have an in-depth understanding of software engineering, embedded real-time systems and their testing. Experience in safety or mission critical systems is considered an advantage. You are a quick learner with strong adaptability and experienced in working with people of different nationalities and diverse backgrounds.
You are smart, ambitious, enthusiastic and flexible. As a project team member, you are pedantic and conscientious.
